Instead of comparing yourself to natives or others, create the habit of comparing yourself to yourself, to the “ old you”, when you started this journey as a beginner student-learner in Greek!

See how much you have grown, what you have achieved and what progress you have made towards your goal. This habit has the benefit of creating gratitude, appreciation and kindness towards yourself as you observe how far you have come, the obstacles you have overcome and the solutions you came up with in order to move forward.

You feel good about yourself without having to think less of other people and taking the time to see how much better you have become as opposed to how you were in the past is a healthy way to stay motivated.

And even if you find motivation by comparing yourself to others, always keep in mind that each one of us is unique, and follows a different way to the top. So, your path is unique to you and to no one else.
Remember that you’re trying to make a positive change for yourself, not to compare yourself to others!
